Who's The Author?
H! I'm Myra Brightholme.
I can say coming to terms with who I am wasn’t easy. I grew up in small-town, but as got older I felt that wasn’t my place. I blamed the teenage years with all the wild hormones, but it wasn’t just that. The country life wasn’t for me, and I just had to give myself permission to explore. Well, going to a liberal arts college in California I had some fun, but that wasn’t it either. Traveling did a lot more. Looking at how others live, the places, the history, but especially the stories. It seemed everyone had a story to tell everywhere I went, and I was a good listener. I’m not sure it was all true, but it sure was fascinating.
And just like that, I decided I would write. Inspiration came from everywhere. The adventures of my friends in Latin America, the vivid dreams of my lady host in Florence, the crazy soap-opera-like romance another friend had while in New Zealand, and of course my own imagination.
I feel I have a lot to learn, and in fact, I’m excited about those prospects. My travels are on hold these days but my mind never stops moving. Never know where it will take me next.
